Sister School

Who is Claremont Academy, our Sister School?

Our Sister School is Claremont Math and Science Academy.  It is a Magnet School in the Chicago Public School system and services approximately 625 students in grades K-8.  The school is located in the Englewood neighborhood, where 97% of the students are considered “low income” and roughly 10% of the students live in the homeless shelter across the street. There will be several opportunities this year, to contribute to the students at Claremont Academy.  Your generosity can make a big impact on the lives of these kids. Please watch for more information on Claremont Academy throughout the year. Thank you for your support!

School Store

The Lane School - School Store is open for business! - The school store is a great place for students to purchase school supplies. It is organized and operated by The Lane School Fifth graders. The store will be open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 8:10 to 8:30am. This year check out our cool new products including many recycled items. Product info and price list will be available soon on The Lane School PTO website. We hope that you will support our Fifth graders and also go green!

Birthday Lunch

Each month, our Principal, Mr. Eccarius, hosts a birthday lunch for the students celebrating a birthday that month. August birthdays celebrate in September, June birthdays celebrate in February, and July birthdays celebrate in April. An email will be sent out prior to the event. Students must bring a nut free lunch.

Special Lunch

Lane School Pizza Days  2012 remaining Pizza Lunch days are: Mar.2, Apr.13 & May 4.  Students in 1st through 5th grade have the chance to eat lunch together in their classroom.  Children will have pizza (that was pre-ordered and paid for), bring their own peanut-free lunch or go home.   You will  find all the nutritional information posted to the right as well.

Helping Hands Committee

The Helping Hands Committee will provide temporary help for The Lane staff, students and families in need due of unanticipated extraordinary circumstances (i.e. illness, loss).  Support can range from school related needs such as carpooling to/from school to external needs such as student seasonal clothing, meal rotations, extracurricular carpooling and other temporary needs identified by the Committee.
